'Moment' is about personalized gifts.

If I had to narrow it down, moment is probably my main interest and project. Since I was a lad, I've been the type to enjoy gathering things into themes. This kind of thing can be different for everyone. Examples being the people who pour hours into their sims and/or animal crossing houses, planning outfits, curating pinterest boards, running themed blogs, etc.

Combining things to represent an overall things has always been immensely satsifying. I think the first time I've ever made a physical gift with this in mind was when I was in highschool. A mutual and I started this penpal snailmail back and forth. I remember a letter I sent that was made with special vellum and scrapbook paper. I made some drawings, fit some tea, cuttings of wrappers with cool packaging, and topped it off by completely filling it to the brim with star glitter because I am a menace. Some inside joke doodles and strategic stamp placement on the outside, and I placed it in the mailbox to be sent of. It was so full, it leaned more in the package category than letter, but USPS accepted it.

Seeing my work pay off with the flurry of excited DMs is when 'moment' became a thing for me. I didn't have a name or even real awareness of it, but it's one of the few things I've done that makes me feel like 'wow, I'm glad I got to experience something like this in my life.'

These types of gifts go by a few different names nowaday. I've seen some called care packages, even rolled into just gift baskets. I would even add in some types of mystery boxes could count. You may have seen things like these color-themed boxes around, usually snack or hygiene products in them. Here are some examples from a company who sells them, Bajon Beauty:





Even though these aren't the kind of thing I would make or want to give, even I can't deny they are kinda pleasing to look at, yknow.

I'm aiming to basically just design concepts for and occasionally physically make these from a 'handmade as much as possible' perspective. As well as making these as sustainable as I can. I think the real treat in these types of things is when you can see the genuine effort to plan, justify, and create a thoughtful gift. I'll also be making my own guidelines and philosophy on all of this, there is a lot of nuance when it comes to gift-giving. Not meant to be an overall endgame guide or tutorial, but maybe it might inspire you to make one of these for your oc, favorite character, or someone else.
